PHAGWARA: In first ever ever instance, all three key posts including Presidents and Two Vice-Presidents of Nagar Council Phagwara were Wednesday captured by the localities residing beyond Satnampura Railway Over Bridge in the elections conducted here today.

Block BJP President Balbhadhar Sein Duggal who won the council elections with a little margin of only ten votes from Ward number 12,was unanimously elected president of Nagar Council Phagwara in the elections for three keyposts conducted by Convenor cum SDM Sultanpur Lodhi Kuldip Singh Chandi.BJP Councillor Bira Ram Baljot proposed the name of Duggal which was seconded by Akali Councillor Sarabjit Kaur.

In the elections of vice-presidents Akali Councillor from Ward number 10 Mrs Sarabjit Kaur was unanimously elected vice-president.BJP Councillor Dev Sharma proposed her name while Akali Councillor Ranjit Singh Khurana seconded the proposal. Independent but BSP Councillor from ward number 11,  Sita Rani Kaul was unanimously elected vice-president of the council as her name was proposed by Independent Councillor Davinder Sapra and seconded by BSP Supported Independent councilor Tej Paul Basra.

Meanwhile Congress councilor Parmod Joshi proposed thee name of Congress Councillor from Ward number 21, Ram Paul uppal for Vice-President which was seconded by another congress councilor Rama Rani,but interestingly Uppal withdrew his name and Babhadhar Sein Duggal,Sarabjit kaur, and Sita Kaul were declared unanimously elected as President and vice-presidents respectively.

On the other hand few scribes, registered their protest and sat on dharna before council office as their entry in the election hall was denied by the Convenor cum SDM Kuldip Singh chand
