PATIALA: A complete bandh was observed In Patiala district on Wednesday morning. Bus stand was closed this morning and no bus came out from the Bus stand. Daily passengers have felt difficulty to reach their destinations. Neither any train has arrived here nor any left Patiala railway station here.

School teachers of Government schools were severely hit by bandh as they have to go rural schools for performing their duties. Police personnel deployed at local bus stand have told them to go home as no bus will be plied today due to bandh.

Private schools have already declared holiday in wake of bandh call, Whereas Government schools were opened as no clear cut instructions were given by district administration. The presence of students in government schools was very poor.

Milk and vegetable supply was also hit by the bandh. All the shops and commercial establishments have been closed in the district.

Reports from Rajpura said that some Sikh youths have gathered at 'Gagan chowk' on National highway no. 1  (New Delhi –Amritsar) and blocked the vehicular traffic. Similar reports from Samana, Nabha and Patran have been received in this district.
