PHAGWARA: In a major success, Phillaur Police has busted an Inter-district Gang of Electric Wires Thieves and arrested its all five members including its kingpin Resham under section 379/411 IPC near village Zandiala in Phillaur Sub Division this afternoon.

Other arrested persons are Rajesh Kumar of village Dhinnd, Avtar Singh of village Bhandal Beit,Sodhi Ram of village Sheikhan, and Sukhwinder Singh of village Bhattian district Gurdasspur.

Phillaur DSP Rajinder Singh Sohal while confirming it told newsmen here this evening that police has recovered more than 15 quintals of electric wires,few Cutters,five swords,and few uniforms of security guards from them while their three wheeler in which they were loading the electric wires has also been impounded. DSP Sohal said that the Gang Members were working as security guards at different banks in day time and were committing thefts during night hours at different parts of punjab.DSP said much more disclosures were expected from them during further police investigation and interrogation.
