AMRITSAR: A suspected Pakistani intruder was Monday night shot dead y Border Security Force(BSF) personnel at Rattan Khurd border outpost in Ajnala sector.
Mohammed Akil DIG of BSF said Tuesday that intruder was spotted by BSF Patrok had crossed the the cobra fencing taking advantage of thick fog early Monday morning.
The man was carrying a backpack containing a survival kit and seemed to have had commando training. The DIG said Pakistan Rangers had refused to take back the body, handed over to the police for post mortem. The body was disposed later.
Meanwhile Rs.10 Lakh in fake currency was recovered by BSF on Monday from Bheropal area on the border. On a tip-off the BSF personnel started searching the area across the fence. An identification mark was spotted and when the personnel searched further, bags containing fake currency was recovered. The notes were in the denomination of Rs.1,000 and Rs.500., sources said.
