CHANDIGARH; The Shiromani Akali Dal(SAD) led by Parkash Singh Badal and Sikh leaders of Haryana would on August 30 hold parallel rallies on the issue of formation of separate Shiromani Gurdawara Parbhandak Committee(SGPC).

The SAD has already given ultimatum to AICC president Sonia Gandhi warning her against interference in religious affairs of Sikhs. The Haryana Sikhs however building pressure on Congress government in Haryana to set up the separate SGPC for state to fulfill their election promise.

Didar Singh Nalvi leader of adhoc committee of Haryana SGPC told Punjabnewsline.com  Wednesday that Akalis were trying to vitiate the atmosphere and trying to create havoc. He said that under the reorganisation Act for formation of Punjab and Haryana in 1966, it was mentioned that Haryana would have its separate Gurdwara Management Committee. He said that Akali Dal had already accepted the terms of reorganisation Act and there is no logic behind opposition of separate committee now.

Nalvi said that Badal was trying to push Haryana Sikhs to corner and levelling false allegations against Sonia Gandhi. He said that when Akalis lost all logic they start talking of unrest among Sikhs and return of militancy. He said that Sikhs of Haryana would not allow any government to scuttle their legitimate demand.

Nalvi said that Nehru-Mastar Tara Singh pact repeatedly being mentioned by Badal had nowhere mentioned that separate Haryana committee would not be formed. He described Badal a big liar.

Nalvi said that Sikhs of Haryana would hold historic rally at Karnal on August 30 to give befitting reply to Badal. He said that Sikhs in Haryana were united over the issue of separate SGPC.
