PHAGWARA: Shri Krishan Janam Ashtami birth day of Lord Krishna was celebrated with great ferver and enthusiasm in Phagwara, Goraya and Phillaur today.

Several temples  were tastefully decorated and different jhakkis related with the life of Lord Krishna were displayed.Long queues of thousands of men,women and children devotees were seen before the temples. Exclusively for Women  Krishana temple of the town popularly known as Shri Sindoora Devi Mandir,which was managed by women and the mandir was only for women  was too opened for men today as men were allowed only once in a year on Krishan Janam Ashtami day to pay their obeisances.Several Langars and Chabeels were also organized for the devotees by different social organizations .
