PHAGWARA: Phillaur Police will soon conduct the help of lie Detector and other neccessary tests to verify the involvement of NRI Harinder Singh @ Raja of nearby village Chhokran who was arrested in the mysterious missing and murder of a four years old infant Jaideep of the same village on the night of August 1.
Phillaur DSP Rajinder Singh Sohal while expressing his doubts about the involvement of NRI in the murder of child told this correspondent last night that NRI was issueless and was habitual of taking the help of Tantriks. Meanwhile the arrested NRI was produced before Phillaur Judicial Magistrate last evening who sent him in judicial custody till September 9. It may be mentioned here that Hundreds of residents of nearby village Chhokran hold noisy demonstration,and sat on dharna before Phillaur Police Station and in the middle of national high ways near Phillaur Bus Stand blocking vehicular road traffic for more than three hours on August 12 in protest against allegedly inaction of Phillaur Police in the mysterious missing and murder of a four years old boy of the village between August 1 and August 3. The protesters led by Bahujan Samaj Party State General Secretary M.P.Singh Goraya,Former Congress Minister Ch Santokh Singh,Comrade Tersem Singh, and parents of the deceased boy Jaideep , threatened to intensify the agitation .Later Phillaur Police arrested NRI Harminder Singh@ Raja of the same village under section 302/364/201 IPC today. It may be mentioned here that three-year-old boy of Chhokran village near Phillaur, who had been missing since August 1 was found murdered on August 3 evening in a distributary near Atta village. Police suspected, it to be a case of human sacrifice, as he was kidnapped on the day of solar eclipse. It is learnt that Jaydeep Singh, son of Narinder Singh, had gone missing from near his home at around 10 am on August 1. The parents and the villagers launched a search for him but without any success. A person discovered the corpse of a child in a distributary near Atta and informed the police on August 3 evening. Cops recovered the swollen body from the water and it was identified to be of Jaydeep. However, police officials held that it appeared the child was strangulated as his eyes had bulged out and some other indications also suggested likewise. Phillaur SHO Daljit Singh said while a case of murder had already been registered, police were working on the theory that it could be a case of human sacrifice, as he was kidnapped on the day of solar eclipse. Parents of the child are inconsolable as he was their only child and was born after 15 years of their marriage. |
