CHANDIGARH:  Sukhbir Singh Badal President Shiromani Akali Dal and Member Parliament has issued directions to all the district Presidents of the party and Heads of different wings of the party to complete proposals regarding organizational setup of the party upto circle level and these proposals be sent to the Head Office of the party at the earliest.

While addressing the district presidents of the party and Heads of different Wings of the partyhere Wednesday, in a meeting held in Head Office of the party at Chandigarh, he advised that the district level offices of the party be set up where these offices have not been set up so far.

Badal issued specific instructions that while finalizing district level organization setup of the party, it should be ensured that veteran leaders of the party having track record of selfless service and sacrifice, be given due representation in the district level organizational setup of the party. Besides this, instructions were also given that due representation may also be given to all the sections of the society. While addressing the meeting, S. Balwinder Singh Bhunder, General Secretary, Shiromani Akali Dal impressed upon that strict discipline be maintained in the party at the lowest level and good workers be fully rewarded.

Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema Secretary and Spokesman of Shiromani Akali Dal expressed that a resolution was adopted in the meeting to appreciate the decision of the Punjab Government regarding implementation of compulsory teaching of Punjabi upto matric level and   introduction of Punjabi in Government Offices. S. Parkash Singh Badal Hon'ble Chief Minister Punjab was congratulated by the participants for this bold decision. A resolution was also passed expressing thanks to S. Parkash Singh Badal for lying the foundation stone of 1980 MW thermal plant at Talwandi Sabo and termed this event as a milestone in the field of power generation.

In this meeting, which lasted for about 3 hours, Badal reviewed the organizational setup of all the districts and the participating leaders were exhorted to further strengthen the organizational setup.

Badal also encouraged the participants to strengthen themselves for the ensuing Parliamentary Elections and ensured that achievements of the Government be conveyed at village level and formulate strategy for election campaign. Tributes were also paid in this meeting to the departed souls namely Harkishan Singh Surjit, Baba Santa Singh, Jaswant Kaur Dhaliwal, Dr. Kewal Krishan, Bhai Davinder Singh Sidhu, Ishmeet Singh and theater artist Bhag Singh. Tributes were also paid to the pilgrims who lost their lives while visiting Naina Devi Temple.
