Travel agent, wife booked by Punjab police for cheating and conspiracy |

PHAGWARA: The Phagwara Police has registered a case of fraud against one fake travel agent Jugmohan Singh his wife and his son Aman Singh of nearby village Uchapind under section 420/406/506/24 immigeration act on the charges of cheating a villager Ajaib singh of Kundanpuri Ludhiana.
Phagwara DSP harkamalpreet Singh Khakh told newsmen here this evening that Ajaib singh alleged in his complaint that the said accused made a deal of Rs Seven Lac with him to send him abroad and took Rs 1.90 Lac as advance money and his passport six months back,but neither he could be sent abroad nor the accused returned back his advance money.Police has arrested Jugmohan singh this evening while other two were still at large. Phagwara September 5 Thunderstorm followed by heavy showers lashed the doaba region including phagwara,Banga,Nawanshahar,Hoshiarpur,and Jalandhar this evening.Hundreds of trees were seen uprooted due to high velocity thunderstorm,which disrupted normal life badly.Power Supply could also not be available in these towns as power supply either was switched off or several power wires were seen cut and fell down on the main roads.Chief Engineer North TS Thind could not be available despite several phones,but Sr XEN Sanjeev Kumar however told this correspondent that hundreds of trees were seen uprooted on Hoshiarpur road, near bhularai.People were still waiting for the power supply which could not be resumed even after three hours till tonight. |
