PHAGWARA:  Phagwara, Banga, Nawanshahar, Hoshiarpur and Jalandhar has followed by heavy showers in the evening of Friday.

Hundreds of trees were seen uprooted due to high velocity thunderstorm,which disrupted normal life badly.Power Supply could also not be available in these towns as power supply either was switched off or several power wires were seen cut and fell down on the main roads.

Chief Engineer North TS Thind could not be available  despite several phones,but Sr XEN Sanjeev Kumar however told this correspondent that hundreds of trees were seen uprooted on Hoshiarpur road, near bhularai.People were still waiting for the power supply which could not be resumed even after three hours till tonight.
