PATIALA: The Bhartiya Janta Party and its parent organization Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has once again became active in Punjab by reappointing its representative Rulda Singh as the state chief of Rashtriya Sikh Sangat. Akal Takht has declared Rashtriya Sikh Sangat, anti-Sikh organisation.

The Rashtriya Sikh Sangat is a cultural organization affiliated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Rashtriya Sikh sangat was formed on 24th Nov. 1986 on the Prakash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev ji.

The appointment of Rulda Singh has left Akali Leadership in spat sticky situation as pressure by BJP leadership on SAD to use its good offices at Akal Takhat Sahib to withdraw 'Sandesh' against Rashtriya Sikh Sangat.

In a 'Sandesh' issued by Sri Akal Tahkt Sahib in 2005 the RSS and its 'Sikh Sangat' wing were openly declared as 'Panthic Virodhee' (anti-Panthic) elements, and all Sikhs were requested to not deal with them in any manner. 

They were barred from even participating in the 2005 celebrations of Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. 

Rulda Singh is not only a spokesman for the Rashtrya Sikh Sangat wing of the RSS, but he has also served as Bhartiya Janata Party's (BJP) NRI General Secretary, and key liaison between the RSS and the Akalis and organizations linked to the Sant Samaj.

When contacted, Rulda Singh, by PTI, said on Saturday here that with his appointment BJP and RSS will participate in the 300th Gurta Gaddi celebrations of Sri Guru Granth sahib.

Rulda however claimed to have received religious education from Damdami Taksal when Sant Kartar Singh was its chief and that time Sant Jarnail Singh Bhinderanwale was one of its students in 1976-80.

When asked about the controversial Sandesh issued by Akal Takhat Sahib he said that he will first take over the reins of RSS in state and will take it later. He said that he will also meet the Jathedar of Akal Takhat sahib on this issue.

When asked about his political ambitions he said the he has no ambitions in politics and whatever service will given to him by RSS and BJP he will perform it in very true manner.
