Arguments to frame charges in murder case begin AMBALA: The CBI court Saturday framed charges against dera saccha sauda chief , Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in sexual assult of dera sadhvies case here. Special Judge of CBI, A K Verma while pronouncing the order read out the charges in the presence of dera chief. Whereas Dera chief however refuted the charges .The next hearing in this case is fixed for October 4.
While arguing on framing the charges the CBI had briefed the sequences of the event and readout the statements of two of the sadhvies of dera Sarjivan and Sapna in the court who had alleged that dera chief had rapped them. On the statement of sadhvies the CBI had registered a case against dera chief under section 376, 509 and 506 . The CBI during the argument had also discussed the anonymous letter written against dera chief which had resulted the investigation against him. The CBI in its charge sheet had also mentioned the statements of some witnesses who further corroborated the involvement of dera chief in the alleged case. The counsel of CBI, HPS Verma told that the CBI would produce its evidences in this case during the next hearing. He said that that the CBI had sufficient evidences against dera chief. According to information the CBI had submitted the list of more than two- dozen of evidences in the court The argument on framing charges in Ranjeet murder case was also started today. It is to be mentioned that Ranjeet Singh who was one of the member of 10- members dera management committee was murdered in his village in Kurukshetra district on July 10, 2002. On the complaint of the father of the deceased a case was registered against 5 persons including Jasbir Singh, Krishan Lal , Inder Sain, Awtar Singh and Sabdil. Later the name of dera chief was also included in the FIR. The defence counsel Surya Prakash argued in detail in the court today. He said that dera chief had nothing to do with this case. The CBI had falsely implicated him in it, he added. He said that the CBI had fabricated the statement of Khatta Singh, a former driver of dera chief. The defence had completed its argument. The CBI would argue in this matter on the next hearing. |
