Punjab medical colleges to be equipped with MCI guidelines |

PATIALA: In bid to clear mess in the department of medical education of Punjab, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal Sunday said that all three medical colleges will be equipped according to the guidelines of medical council of India and there will be no threat of de-recognition of these colleges from MCI.
Talking to media persons at Punjabi University he said that he has asked the deputy chairman of planning board Dr. JS Bajaj, to make the full draft of the shortage of staff and other facilities to be needed for MCI guidelines. He said that Bajaj was told to prepare the detail draft report for the development of these colleges. He was replying a query regarding the shortage of staff and other facilities in government colleges and threat has been looming of de recognition from MCI. The Ayurvedic colleges have already derecognize by MCI for want of staff and facilities. Badal was furious over the working BJP ministers as state has already faced enraged of medical students of batch 2007 for hike in fee structure by threefold during counselling. Badal had made a committee to review the fee structure in the chairmanship of Dr. JS bajaj by sidelining the minister in charge, but later backtracked by pressure of BJP. Tikshan sood a BJP MLA is the minister of the medical education and forests of Punjab. In another question Badal said that the all the chairmen of improvement trusts will be appointed before the parliament elections. |
