Rahul's wait made Congress workers cry for water

PHAGWARA: “Paani Pilao” (Give us Water) was the responsive slogan of several youth congress activists who remained thirsty for more than two hours in wait of AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi, assembled in local hargobind nagar ground Wednesday afternoon.
Though no response was given by senior congress leaders to them , but YC activists in loud voice went on replying the slogan of “Indian National Congress”---Paani Pilao in stead of “saying Zindabad.
Rahul Gandhi who arrived at 2.18PM and depart only after six mintues, straight forwardly drove at the venue, accepted the flowers from senior congress leaders like Rana Gurjit Singh, Joginder Singh Maan, Balbir Raja Sodhi, Santosh Chaudhry, Sukhpaul Singh Khera, Ashok Wadhwa and went in to the chamber meant for membership drive of Youth Congress. He discussed with some YC leaders for a while took a round of the panadal and depart from Phagwara only after six mintues.
Several Women and Youths were seen crying for water in extensive heat.
Tight Security arrangements were made by Phagwara Police headed by DSP Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh. Meanwhile a Nihang wearing 320 meters long heavy turban was forced by the security agencies to leave the venue before arrival of Rahul Gandhi.
On the other hand, It was learnt that though tight security arrangements were made by NSG and SPG with the assistance of Phagwara Police, but no arrangement for the health care of Rahul Gandhi could be observed. It was learnt that administration had set up a separate ward in local Gandhi Hospital for any emergency and the instructions were issued to Senior Medical Officer Dr Kailash Kapoor to tie up with the private hospital, but surprisingly neither Civil Hospital authorities nor medical staff of Gandhi Hospital were informed about blood group of Rahul Gandhi.
Meanwhile it was also learnt that strict instructions were issued by security agencies to YC activists to avoid showering of flowers upon Gandhi who was reportedly allergic to flowers.
