LUDHIANA: “I was under the impression that Congress in Punjab was not very active and was dominated by the Akalis. But looking at the spirit of Congress workers I think I was wrong.”
 

These were the opening lines of Rahul Gandhi’s speech who addressed the members of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) at Guru Nanak Bhawan on Wednesday evening.

“Congress has become aggressive in Punjab and it certainly has a bright future,” he added. However, motivation of the youth is what is needed the most at present and the the leaders must focus on this aspect. Rahul addressed the members for about five minutes and told them that it was an organisational tour to boost the membership of Youth Congress workers. He added that in future all the visits would be planned and would be political in nature.

“I enjoyed my tour of Punjab and it can be called more of a study tour in which I have met a cross-section of people to know more about the state,” he added.
