15 more Pak prisoners given councilor access |

AMRITSAR: Two officials from New Delhi based Pakistan High Commission Ali Asgar and Mukhtiar Husain interacted with 15 Pakistani prisoners including three females and one child here Friday in the central jail of Amritsar.
Jail official said that earlier on August 18 this year, Amritsar jail authority has produced 56 Pak prisoners before the Pak officials but 26 were given councilor access. Nearly 30 Pak prisoners who were provided councilor access a year back were also still languishing in the jail. Today during the councilor access of 15 Pak prisoners who have already completed their jail sentence, given their antecedents to Pak officials and told about the hardships faced by them in the Indian jail. Pak officials informed the media outside the jail that all the prisoners who were provided councilor access would be repatriated to Pakistan at the earliest possible period subject to the confirmation of their antecedents. However, jail authority has informed that on the first week of October nearly 19 Pakistani prisoners would be released and in this regard all the official formalities of documentation were completed. Jail authority has declined the media to reveal the exact number of Pakistani prisoners who were still in the jail in Amritsar.
