PHAGWARA: Annual garlanding of the statue of Rashtarpita Mahatama Gandhi was done by several congressmen in local town hall on Gandhi Jayanti here on Thursday.

The Statue which was found without spectacles, could not be noticed by any of the congressmen including former minister Joginder Singh Maan, Block Congress Committee President Pawan Sharma Pappi, and former Improvement Trust Chairman Balbir Raja Sodhi as congressmen garlanded the spectaclesless statue of Mahatama Gandhi, paid tributes to Gandhi Ji and went back.

Meanwhile it was observed that though All India Youth Congress Committee President Ashok Tanwar alongwith several other leaders visited Phagwara last month and hold a public meeting near the statue, but no body bothered to paid tributes before the statue.On the other hand PPCC President Mahinder Singh Kaypee too visited Phagwara twice but never bothered to paid tributes before the statue.
