CHANDIGARH: The Punjab government on Friday notified the rates of pays to be paid to contractual re-employed medical teachers upto the age of 65 years for government medical College Amritsar and Patiala.

According to an official spokesman for those who are not getting any pension but employed as Professor would get 55,000/- and similarly associate Professor would get 48,000/-. In the same category assistant Professor would get 43,000/-, Lecturer 31,000/-and Sr.Resident/Medical Officers would get Rs. 25,000/- per month.

The spokesman said that for those who are getting pension from state, Centre or Armed forces the rate of pay would be Professor (Rs. 44,400/-), Associate Professor (Rs.39,000/-), Assistant Professor (Rs.34,000/-), Lecturer (Rs.23,900/-) and Sr. Resident/Medical officers (Rs.19,100/-).

The spokesman added that re-employed Medical teachers would be allowed private practice as they would not be getting non-Practicing allowance.
