AMRITSAR: PCS officer an Additional Deputy Commissioner Tarn Taran Kirpal Singh whose Kidney transplantation was deferred on the intervention SSP Amritsar Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh, today took dramatic turn when donor backed out and refuted to donate kidney.

A young unmarried Sunny (22) today appeared before the media claimed that he was lured by the family of Kirpal Singh for hefty money, marriage and employment promise. "Now I have changed my mind when I learned that donation of my vital organ mean direct invitation to early death. Now I have decided that I would not donate my kidney at any cost to Kirpal Singh", said Sunny.

Earlier Kirpal Singh was scheduled to undergo kidney transplantation surgery on September 29 this year, after getting the clearance from the Kidney Transplant Authorization Committee (KTAC) but on the intervention of SSP Amritsar it was deferred.

Last week on Saturday night, an emergent meeting of Kidney Transplant Authorization Committee (KTAC) which was called on behest of SSP Amritsar Kanwar Vijay Partap Singh, whereupon SSP had raised objections on the credentials of Doctor Surgeon A.S. Bains who was going to transplant the kidney of Kirpal Singh at Silver Oak Hospital Mohali.

Earlier, in the year of 2002 kidney racket of Rs. 100 crore was busted in Amritsar as all the donors involved in the scam had allegedly donated their kidneys after receiving the hefty amount from the family of the patient as they had not followed the Kidney Transplant Act 1994.

However, earlier Deputy commissioner Tarn Taran having officiating charge of Amritsar Kushi Ram had informed that the case of Kirpal Sing was cleared in the high-powered committee meeting in a transparent manner and the donor, Sunny (22) a unmarried boy, and his father Charandas were informed about the post-operation complications that could arise, even they were informed that death was also possible.

Donor Sunny also hails from Amritsar. Father-son both had denied that the kidney was being donated under any pressure and against any monitory benefit, since donor belongs to the same particular community and donating Kidney out of immense love, had said Kushi Ram.
