PATIALA : Patiala Police on Friday arrested an ophthalmologist Dr. JPS Sodhi posted as Chief Medical Superintendent at Agarsain charitable hospital for allegedly purchase of human eye balls from Haryana.
Rajpura police on Thursday has rounded up one Sunil Kumar a class IV employee of Ambala Civil hospital for carrying two human balls near Sambhu at interstate check post. DSP Rajpura, Bhupinder Singh Khatra said that after through integration it was revealed that Sunil Kumar has been working for Dr. JPS Sodhi and has been delivering eye balls through his driver Manjit verma. Sunil was carrying two eye balls of one Bihari Labourer who died in Amabal civil hospital early this week, added Khatra. Police has however registered as case against Dr. JPS Sodhi, his wife Neelam Sodhi driver Manjit Verma and Sunil Kumar under section 420 297 120-b of and sections IPC 18, 19 and 20 of transplantation of human organ act. Dr. Sodhi, driver manjit verma and sunil kumar were arrested. They later produced to local court and remanded to judicial custody. |
