Five booked by Punjab police for attacking NRI Print E-mail

PHAGWARA: The Punjab Police has registered a case against an Akali councillor  Davinder Sapra and his five other accompliances  under section 326/323/506/149 IPCfor  allegedly attacking an NRI  Joginder Paul Ghai and causing him grievous injuries.  
 

According to a written complaint lodged by Canada based NRI Joginder Ghai,presently residing in local hargobind nagar, he was attacked by Sapra and his accomplices near local Tehsil complex on September 22 evening while he was returning from village Talwan near Nurmahal.

Ghai alleged that Sapra attacked him referring to his dispute over a piece of land with one Neeta Vij.
 
He was badly beaten up and had to get treatment for his damaged left ear first at ENT Hospital in Amritsar and then at PGI. The damage resulted in hearing loss, he said, alleging threats to his life by Sapra. No arrest has been made till so far.
