CHANDIGARH: G.S. Grewal, Managing Director, Markfed has suspended its Field Officers, Charanjit Singh and Laxmi Narayan posted at Branch Office, Fazilka on account of shortage of 632 bags of 50kg each of wheat crop 2002-03.

The suspension was made on the basis of a report from the Committee constituted, which has reported that stocks were found either less in contents or some bags were found empty and the grains were found lying loose in a heap shape.

Both the officials had been charge-sheeted earlier also, for causing damage to wheat stocks. Taking serous note of embezzlement, Sh. Grewal has suspended these officials and FIR has been got registered against them with SSP, Ferozepur under Section 409 and 120 of the IPC
