Assistant Lineman caught taking bribe in Ferozpur |

CHANDIGARH: State Vigilance Bureau, during its ongoing campaign against rampant corruption today nabbed an Assistant Lineman (ALM) of PSEB red handed accepting bribe in a trap case.
Disclosing this here today a spokesman of Vigilance Bureau Punjab said that Mr.Daljit Singh, ALM, posted at PSEB sub-station Mallanwala, distt. Ferozpur was nabbed red handed by a Vigilance team led by Mr. Ashok Kumar, DSP/VB, Ferozpur while he was accepting bribe of Rs. 1,300/- from one Mr. Rashpal Singh ,a complainant of Village Ruknewala, Distt. Ferozpur. The complainant approached the VB and alleged that the above named ALM were demanding Rs. 1,500/- for changing his non-functional domestic electric meter but deal was struck at Rs.1,300/-. After this VB laid a trap and the accused was caught red handed and tainted money was recovered from him in the presence of two govt. witnesses. A case FIR No. 44, u/s 7, 13(2) Prevention of Corruption Act (PCA) 1988 at PS/VB Ferozpur has been registered against him and further investigation was under process. |
