ANANDPUR SAHIB: Anandpur sahib police claimed to have solved an ATM scam and arrested two  persons who allegedly stole ATM cards and withdrew money fraudulently.

Senior Superintendent of police (SSP) Ropar, Kapil Dev told  media persons that DSP Anandpur Sahib Jatinder Pal Singh Banipal and SHO Anand pur sahib Ajinder Singh got secret information that some anti social elements can do some criminal activities in this region.

The police was able to arrest the accused from near Patalpuri chowk. The accused have ben identified as Hem karn (Happy) s/o Mangal Ram resident of village Jhinjri(Anandpur sahib) and Vipin Kumar s/o Banta Ram resident of village Madopur(Nurpur Bedi). 
     
Police said that  Hem karn (happy) was working in ICICI Bank at Chandigarh and he confessed that he stole ATM cards from his bank and he has withdrawn Lakhs of rupess with these ATMs.
    
After initial investigations police also recovered 3 Lakh rupess. Pulsar motorcycle no. PB 12-J- 1726, 2 nokia mobile phones and 2 ATM cards. The alleged accusede person confessed that they had withdrawn money with these ATM’s from HDFC Bank Nangal, Nurpur Bedi, Ropar and Chandigarh and also from State bank of Patiala Anandpur Sahib.

Police filed a case against them under section 379,406,420 in police station Anandpur sahib. From initial  probe, police got that these alleged stole  ATM’s which actually belongs to Dr Vimil Bansal and his wife Dr. Aruna Bansal resident of Sector 38 Chandigarh.

SSP Kapil dev said that they expect to recover some other things with further investigation. He told that it is a big achievement of Anand pur sahib police.
