NEW DELHI: Encouraged by the great success of World famous luxury train Palace on Wheels, Indian Rail and Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (R.T.D.C.) has introduced another super luxury train named "Royal Rajasthan on Wheels", [RROW] which will begin its commercial operation from next  year 11th January, 2009.

The train would help in accommodating tourists not finding a berth in the palace on wheels. The fully air-conditioned train is equipped with world class facilities of spa-car, super deluxe saloons with cubical bathrooms and all other modern facilities. This will be India's first "Wi Fi" train providing internet and ISD telephone facilities during the entire course of journey.

This was disclosed by Mrs. Meera Mehrishi, Chairman, Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation and Principal Secretary, Tourism, in a presentation on the train "Royal Rajasthan on Wheels" in New Delhi. This Presentation was Organised in cooperation with Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO). Mrs. Usha Sharma, Commissioner, Tourism Government of Rajasthan and Mr. Naresh Pal Gangwar, Managing Director, Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation were also present on this occasion.

She also informed that the coaches of the train are being manufactured in integrate coach factory Chennai and are likely to reach Delhi by the end of December, 2008. The train will be furnished in Delhi. The new train "Royal Rajasthan on Wheels" has carrying capacity of 82 tourists. It is equipped with one super deluxe saloon, 13 deluxe saloons, 2 restaurant lounge bar and one spa-car. Each saloon will have its own pantry and 24 hours attendants. Tourists will feel the luxuries of a palace on this train.

The train will start its eight day journey on every Sunday from Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station and will reach Jaipur on Monday, Bikaner on Tuesday, Jaisalmer on Wednesday, Jodhpur on Thursday, Udaipur and Chittorgarh on Friday, Bharatpur and Agra on Saturday and will come back to Delhi on Sunday morning.

Train tariff would be - U.S. Dollars 2000 per person per night for the super deluxe suite, 800 U.S. Dollars per person per night for twin sharing deluxe saloon and US Dollars 1200 per person per night on single occupancy saloon. Super deluxe saloon will have facilities like big cabin with bed, sitting area, study table & chairs, a big cubical bathroom etc.

The specialties of new train, time table, booking process and other facilities were elaborated by Mrs. Mehrishi in her 'power point presentation' to the representatives of travel and tourism industry and general sales agents. She also answered and satisfied their queries. She informed that 'Heritage on Wheels' running on meter gauge from Jaipur to Bikaner via Shekhawati and Talchapper game sanctuary will not run after 31st December due to gauge conversion.

She added and hoped that due to immense success of Palace on Wheels and it's 100 percent advance booking in 2008-09, new luxury train 'Royal Rajasthan on Wheels' will also be successful venture in tourism.
