Audit Inspector caught red handed taking bribe |

CHANDIGARH: Punjab Vigilance Bureau has nabbed an Audit Inspector of Co-operative Department red handed accepting bribe of Rs.2000 from a class four bank employee, in a trap case.
Disclosing this here Friday a spokesman of Vigilance Bureau Punjab said that Balbir Singh, Audit Inspector, posted at Primary Agricultural Development Bank, Talwandi Saboo, distt. Bathinda was nabbed red handed by a Vigilance team led by Balbir Singh, DSP/VB, Mansa while he was accepting bribe of Rs. 2,000/- from complainant Sewa Singh, a Sewadar, employed at Co-operative Agricultural Service Society, Village Natheha, Distt. Bathinda. The complainant approached the VB and alleged that the above named Audit Inspector was demanding Rs. 2,000/- for not to involve him in an embezzlement case of pesticides. After this VB laid a trap and the accused was caught red handed and tainted money was recovered from him in the presence of two govt. witnesses. A case FIR No. 19, u/s 7, 13(2) Prevention of Corruption Act (PCA) 1988 at PS/VB Bathinda has been registered against him and further investigation was under process. |
