PUNJAB: Ban on corporal punishment by State government

PHAGWARA: Despite Complete ban on Corporal punishment by the state government,the practice was still continued in several parts of the state including rural localities till now.

 



In such a incident, One Villager Student of matric class Rajwinder Kaur was allegedly punished physically by her school teacher in Government Sr Sec School in nearby village Nangal Majha on Friday.

Chaman Lal and Harbilas Uncles of the victim, while talking with selective newsmen here this evening,alleged that, Rajwinder was  given corporal punishment by her teacher and the brother of the teacher who was also a school teacher as she could not got sufficient marks in Computer subject. They alleged that their niece became unconcious after beating by the teachers.They said the victim girl could not be came out from the shock even after several hours of the incident.Though her parents brought the matter to the School Principal but nothing could be initiated against the guilty teachers.
