Rawalpindi police station adjudged the best rural police station in country Print E-mail

PHAGWARA: Rawalpindi police Station, presently a unit of the Sadar Police Phagwara, was adjudged the best rural police station of the country last year, while after sometimes,it bagged fifth position in Asia in a competition among the police stations of the Asia Pacific.

Now Rawalpindi Police Station has become first Rural Police Station of the country which has provided "Video Conferencing System" for the people residing in abroad and sorrounding villages.Phagwara DSP Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh who inspected the Rawalpindi Station this afternoon,told this correspondent that NRIs residing in foreign countries could be facilitated as NRIs could talk directly to the police authorities including,DSP Phagwara and SHO Rawalpindi to lodge any type of their complaint.

When this correspondent visited the Rawalpindi Police Station today it was showing a nice look like a neat and clean premises.Rural Police Station was presenting an ultra modern look as the police Station was facilitated with every type of facility for the visitor.

DSP khakh told that as Phagwara was an NRI belt and now NRIs could be able to contact police authorities including SSP Kapurthla,DSP Phagwara and SHO Rawalpindi through video conferencing system or they could mailed their complaints to , ,and'; document.write( '' ); document.write( addy_text10753 ); document.write( '<\/a>' ); //--> .

SHO Rawalpindi Param Sunil Randhawa in presence of Phagwara DSP Khakh told this correspondent that seven CCTV cameras were installed in the police station to monitor the working of police employees including undertrials in lock up.SHO told that three different cabins for three duty officers for various villages have been set up and the areas have been divided.Moreover interestingly Complaint Cards have been prepared which would be provided to the complainant and the date of report,Name of Enquiry Officer and the Status of the complaint would be registered in the complaint card to make the process easy.A Citizen Charter was displayed on a wall of the Police Station through which citizens were being given valuable suggestions.
