FATEHGARH SHAIB: Dr  Pranav Pandya,  Chancellor of  Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, Hardwar  informed that  his university would open 500 colleges in country in three years.

Talking to Punjab Newsline  Mandi Gobindgarh Dr Pandya  said that the university had already selected 50 location in Gujarat to set up colleges and the same number locations also been selected in Madaya Pardesh and Uttar Pardesh.  He said that the university is selecting those locations for opening colleges  where adequate building  has constructed.  He said that the university had already selected locations to open colleges in Punjab and colleges will open  in Mandi Gobindgarh, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Ferozepur.

He said that though the university is working under University Grants Commission(UGC) but it never claim any grant from the university as one lakh people is donating Rs 5 for the university daily.  He said that his university had set up around 4 years back and presently 15 colleges are affiliated with the university and around 30,000 students are attached with the university.  He said that training staff is teaching the students and students are paying subsidized fee.
 
Dr Pandya said that the university has been set up to meet the pressing need to impart global education on scientific spirituality and life style with new though of ethical, moral and spiritual transformation of youths and production of specialists, and devoted nationalists. He said that excellent character, indomitable courage, firm determination  and intense love for labour, must be their trait, so that they may carve their own destiny.

Dr Pandya said that his university is residential university .  He informed that the teaching and research activities of the university is confined to four faculties of education, health, scientific spirituality, entrepreneurship and self-employment. He said various coursed to enchance self-employment opportunity has been started so that students after completing of course may start their own work.  He said that the university has recently started course in journalism.

He said that his university is totally different from all other universities of the world because of its fundamental characteristics. Unlike other universities its objectives and activities pervade from academics to spiritual, cultural and social facets as well. The value based education will contribute in the total personality development, rather than just being the mode for earning livelihood. It will facilitate the development of divinity in students and provide every opportunity for their latent potentials to flourish. Its fundamental characteristics, he added.

Dr Pandya, who is also  Director and Head  of All World Gayatri Pariwar informed that ‘Ashavmedh Mahayag’ would be performed  first time in Punjab from October 4 to October 8 at Ludhiana .
