Punjab PCC chief willing to fight Lok Sabha poll

JALANDHAR: Punjab congress chief Mahinder Singh Kapyee on Saturday indicated his willingness to contest coming Lok Sabha polls and said the first list of party candidates for the 13 seats in the state would released by February 15.



He said a panel of probable candidates for 13 Lok Sabha of Punjab would be sent to Congress high command very soon.

Asked whether he was interested in contesting the Lok Sabha election from Jalandhar (Reserve) seat, Kay Pee told reporters here that it was up to the high command to decide whether it wanted to field a PCC chief in the poll.

"As far as my interest is concerned, every politician is always interested in contesting election", he added.

He said the state congress would organize a rally in Nurmahal assembly segment which would be attended among others by former Chief Minister Amarinder Singh and his known detractor and former PCC chief Rajinder Kaur Bhattal.
