CHANDIGARH: Rowing powerfully, Manjeet Singh won the boys single scull event by clocking 3:54.13 in the Chandigarh State Junior Rowing Championship conducted by the Chandigarh Rowing Association at the Lake Club here Saturday.
Sanjay Kumar finished approximately two and half lengths behind the leader for the silver medal. Sanjay covered the water channel in 4:14.98. Vikrant finished third in 4:25.28. Manjeet Singh struck his second gold as he paired Kanav Dosajh to finish first in doubles scull. Maneet Singh also collected silver medal as his team comprising Sanjay Kumar, Robint Rawat and Angrej Singh finished runners-up in the Coxless Fours competition. The first position went to a team consisting of Manjit Singh, Kanav Dosajh, Shinderpal and Angrej Singh who clocked 3:23.32. Single Scull: 1 Manjeet Singh 3:54.13, 2 Sanjay Kumar 4:14.98, 3 Vikrant 4:25.28. Double Scull: 1 Kanav Dosajh and Manjeet Singh 3:35.70, 2 Sanjay Kumar and Gurjant Singh 3:48.04, 3 Vikrant and Angrej Singh 4:01. 31. Coxless Pairs: 1 Shinderpal and Manjit 3:42.16. Coxless Fours: 1 Manjit Singh, Kanav Dosajh, Shinderpal and Angrej Singh 3:23.32, 2 Manjeet Singh, Sanjay Kumar, Robin Rawat and Gurjant Singh 3:35.04.
