Kinder and Shine in 164-run stand in Ind-Swift Inter-Academy Cricket Print E-mail

CHANDIGARH:  An unbroken third wicket partnership of 164 runs between centurian Kinderpreet Singh (116 not out) and Shine Sharma (60 not out) helped Mohali Cricket Academy outclass APJ Academy of Kharar by eight wickets in the Ind-Swift Inter-Academy Cricket Tournament for Under-15 being organised by Desh Prem Azad Cricket Academy at the MCM DAV College ground in Sector 36 here Tuesday.

Chasing a victory target of 228, Mohali Cricket Academy achieved it in 34.1 overs. After two wickets down, Kinderpreet and Shine Sharma flayed the APJ bowlers. They were associated in an unbeaten 164-run association for the third wicket partnership. Kinderpreet's well-compiled century was studded with 17 boundaries, two sixes in 89 deliveries. Shine Sharma's unbeaten knock contained seven boundaries.

Earlier, APJ Academy won the toss and elected to bat. They made 227 for 9 in allotted 40 overs. Sarthik scored 59 with five fours and three sixes while Anmil contributed 35 runs. Sahil (26) and Shivam (24) were their other principal scorers. For MCA Manish bagged 3 for 39. Jaspinder Singh and Kinderpreet Singh got two wickets each for 41 and 37 runs, respectively.

At the St Stephen's School ground in Sector 45, opener Karan Aggarwal played a brilliant unbeaten knock of 73 rusn which contained 13 boundaries. In association with Lovjit Singh (33, 4x4s, 2x6s), Karan Aggarwal wre associated in a 50-run partnership for the fifth wicket. Openers Aggarwal brothers,  Karan and Dakash realised 28 runs for the first wicket before Dakash returned to the pavilion. At ibe stage DP Azad Academy were 138 for 8 but Karan and Vishwas Bhatia (8 not out) put on 20 runs for the unbeaten ninth wicket stand. Karan also took three fine catches.

Earlier, MCM Blue Caps scored 157 all out in 34.5 overfs. Arash topscored with 60 which contained 10 boundaries. Abhishek made 28. Arash and Abhishek put on 38 runs for the fifth wicket stand. Right arm medium pacers Lovejit Singh (3 for 20) and Jagpreet (2 for 42) and spinner Arjun Kashyap (2 of 37) were the main wicket-takers for Blue Caps.

Brief scores: APJ Academy, Kharar: 227 for 9 in 40 overs (Sarthik 59, 5x4s, 3x6s, Anmol 35, Sahil 26, Shivam 24, Jaspinder Singh 2 for 37, Manish 3 for 39). Mohali Cricket Academy: 228 for 2 in 34.1 overs (Kinderpreet Singh 116 not out, 17x4s, 2x6s, 89 balls, Shine Sharma 60 not out, 7x4s,  Karanveer 1 for 56, Sahil Sharma 1 for 61).  MCA win by 8 wkts.

 MCM Blue Caps: 157 all out in 34.5 overs (Arush 60, 10x4s, Abhishek 29, Angad 5, Lovejit Singh 3 for 20, Jagpreet 2 for 42, Arjun Kashyap 2 for 37).Desh Prem Azad Academy: 158 for 8 in 32.3 overs (Karan Aggarwal 73 not out, 13x4s, Lovejit Singh 33, 4x4s, 2x6s, Vishwas Bhatia, Manik 3 for 28, Harpreet 3 for 31). DPA Academy win by two wickets.

Tomorrow's fixtures: Shree Shree Academy, Panchkula vs Satluj Public School Academy, Panchkula at MCM DAV College ground in Sector 36.
