PHAGWARA: On a complaint lodged by Phagwara resident Darshan Kaur and his son Tajinder Singh ex-secretary of former minister Joginder Singh Maan, Phagwara Police has registered a case under section 420/406/120B and 6 Immigeration Act against four fake travel agents.
Those booked included Davinder Singh, his sister Jasbir Kaur of Mukerian and Hardev Singh and his father Satnam Singh on the charges of duping huge amount of Rs 15.19 Lacs on the name of sending Tejinder to Canada.
Darshan Kaur in her complaint, alleged that the said accused made a deal of Rs.25 Lacs in Feb last year and a token money of Rs 50,000 and passport of Tejinder was given to the accused. She said that Rs 2.40 Lacs were deposited in the bank account of Davinder Singh and a cash of Rs 2.30 Lacs was given to them for preparing documents.
She said that they were forced to give Rs 4.5 Lacs and Rs 5.5 Lacs to get visa which was given to Tejinder,but was prooved a fake document .Darshan Kaur said that the accused went on harassing them by giving false assurances to send him to Canada. Tejinder alleged that the accused gave him a false Xerox copy of air ticket, but none of the accused turned up, even when he went to Delhi Air Port to board a flight to Canada.
Tejinder claimed that though police has registered a case 15 days back, but the accused remained absconded due to their political links.
Meanwhile it was learnt that police today succeeded to nab Jasbir Kaur from Mukerian, but the other three accused were still at large.When contacted Phagwara DSP Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh said that no accused would be spared at any cost.
