PATIALA: About 40 jail wardens of Punjab are performing meditation in the central jail of Patiala. A special camp for the jail officials was organized by social organization Punjab Sadvipar Samaj in collaboration with North Zone Culture (NZCC).

Jeewan Garg Jail superintendent of Patiala Jail said that meditation had proved a boon for jail staff which is bound to work under strain due to their nature of duties. The participants in the camp have learned the method of balancing internal energies of body and regain natural vigour.

A spokesman of the Sadvipar Samaj said here on Thursday that they have been also organizing series of meditation camps for school children in various cities. On Thursday about 600 children of various schools of Patiala attended a special camp at Sheesh Mehal compound.

The spokesman said that camps were being organized at the initiative of Swami Krishna Nand ji who is keen to see young generation grow in balanced manner. He said that due to influence of western culture and use of computer and mobile, the children were developing suicidal tendencies and living under continues stress. The children are being taught how to recall their energy through meditation.
