Punjab police arrested bank dacoits recovers 28.5 lacks, 3 cars etc.

PATIALA: Patiala police has able to busted an Inter State 11 Members Gang involved in a number of Bank Decoities, arrested 6 Members of the Gang and recovered Rs. 28 Lac and 50 Thousand, 3 Cars, 1 Motorcycle, 1 Scooter, 2 Pistols of 32 Bore with 17 Cartridges, 1 Pistol of 9 MM with 5 Cartridges, 2 Pistols of 315 Bore with 5 Cartridges from their possession.



The inspector general police (Patiala Zone) Paramjit Singh Gill said in press conference that on October 11 on specific and reliable information that 11 Members of the Gang namely have assembled in a deserted house near Sirhind Bye-Pass, Patiala to divide the looted cash in the past and further plan to commit decoity in Patiala area.

DIG Patiala range-  SK Asthana, SSP Patiala - Ranbir Singh Khatra, DSP –detective Ashish Kapoor, Inspector CIA- Jassa Singh were also present in the joint press conference. 

A Case FIR No. 526 Dated 11.10.2009 U/s 399, 401, 402, 379, 411, 412, 489, 420 IPC and 25/54/59 Arms Act, PS Sadar Patiala, District Patiala was registered against them.

The Police Party of CIA Staff, Patiala raided the venue and 4 Members of the Gang were arrested on the spot and 2 were apprehended after a hot chase from near Faggan Majra PS Tripuri in Optra Magnum Car while the 5 members of the gang managed to escape.   

Those who have arrested identified as Kulwant Singh, Tejinder Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Jaspal Singh, Parminder Singh and Davinder Singh.

The others who have given slip to the police were identified as Balbir Singh, Hitesh Sharma, Sukhwinder Singh, Pargat Singh and Angrej Singh.

All the above members had been in Jails in different Crimes together and came close to each other there and formed a Gang to commit robberies/ decoities. In May – 2009 this gang had looted a huge amount from the Banks in the area of Baddi and Baroti of Himachal Pradesh at gun point. In August – 2009 this gang had looted Rupees 4 ½ Lac from a Bank located at Nanioula, District Ambala. In September – 2009 this gang also looted Rupees 34 ½ Lac from a Bank at Tohana, District Fatehabad, Haryana. About 10 Days ago they also made an attempt to commit a decoity in a Bank on Balana Road, Ambala but could not succeed due to exchange of fire and alarm raised by the staff/ public. During investigation, it has also been established that at the time of committing crime they used to display fake number plates on the vehicles. In connection with the above mentioned incidents the following Case FIRs stand registered against them.

 

1.FIR No. 71 Dated 01.05.2009 U/s 392 IPC and 25 Arms Act PS Baddi, Himachal Pradesh.

2.FIR No. 51 Dated 20.05.2009 U/s 392/34 IPC and 25 Arms Act, PS Baroti Wala, Distict Solan, Himachal Pradesh.

3.FIR No. 44 Dated 26.08.2009 U/s 394 IPC PS Nangal, District Ambala.

4.FIR No. 320 Dated 25.09.2009 U/s 395 IPC and 25 Arms Act, PS Tohana City, District Fatehabad, Haryana.

5.FIR No. 158 Dated 29.09.2009 U/s 342, 395, 398, 307, 506 IPC and 25 Arms Act PS Sadar Ambala, Haryana.

This gang was very active in committing bank decoities for the last 6 Months and had created panic in the States of North India i.e. Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab. The investigation of the arrested gang members is going on and police parties have been dispatched to arrest the remaining absconding 5 gang members.
