CHANDIGARH: The Chandigarh Football Association selected committee has selected 31 players for the coaching camp from November 16 to 26.

The selected players have been directed to report to Sports Authority of India coach Narinder Thapa at the DAV Senior Secondary School ground in Sector 8 on November 16 at 3.30 p.m.

CFA general secretary Rakesh Bakshi said that a final team would be selected during the camp which will represent Chandigarh in the 32nd Sub-Junior National Football Championship for Mir Iqbal Hussain Trophy to be held in Gurgaon (Haryana) Group IV from November 28 to December 7. The final round will be played at Gurgaon from December 10.

In group IV (north), Chandigarh have been placed with Uttar Pradesh and Delhi in Group A, The group B will comprise Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh..

Qualifying round fixtures of North Zone: Nov 28: Delhi vs Chandigarh. Nov 29: Uttarakhand vs Jammu and Kashmir; Punjab vs Himachal Pradesh. Nov 30:  Chandigarh vs  Uttar Pradesh. Dec 1: HP vs Uttrakhand; Jammu and Kashmir vs Punjab. Dec 2: Uttar Pradesh vs Delhi. Dec 3: Himachal Pradesh vs Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab vs Uttrakhand.

Semi-finals: Dec 5. Final: December 7.

The following players have been invited by the CFA for the camp: Hardeep (Shishu Niketan), Jitender (DAVSSS-8), Ben William (St Xavier’s-44), Iaskreet Singh, Ashu Yadav , Lovepreet Singh (Police Academy), Shubham (Tribune Model), Abhijeet Kataria, Pankaj (St Anne’s), Rahul Chadha (St Stephen’s), Piyush Dhingra, Shahzad Alam (Ryan International), Mohd Sajid, Umanul Haque (St Stephen’s), Karan (Mount Carmel), Gurdarshan Singh (Police Academy), Shivam Arora (Saupin”s), Gautam, Shivam Kanwar, Param Dogra  (St Kabir), Varinder Thapa (St John’s), Suraj Thapa, Jimmy (St Stephen’s), Pardeep, Manish (DAV-8), Chander Mohan, Manraj (St John’s), Mehtab Singh (Xavier’s-44) and Chitmajit Singh (Mount Carmel).
