CHANDIGARH: DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 8 defeated Bal Bharti School of Delhi by 72 runs in the three-match series at the St Stephen’s School ground in Sector 45 here.

Organised by Desh Prem Azad Cricket Academy on Friday, DAV School won the toss and elected to bat. They posted an impressive total of 164 in 29 overs. Bhagminder Singh and Arvind Chabra contributed 26 and 22 runs. However, the batsman who virtually bolstered the inning of DAV School was Simranpreet Singh who topscored with a polished knock of 60 which was laced with six fours and one six. Four of DAV School batsmen were run out.

Akash (2 for 29) and Dhurav (2 for 34) were the main wicket-takers for Bal Bharti School.

In reply, Bal Bharti were dismissed for 92 in 26 overs. Vishesh (14) and Akash (12) were the main scorers.

Vikas Chi Chi (3 for 24), Nishant Verma (2 for 28) and Kulbir (2 for 12) restricted Bal Bharti innings with disciplined bowling.

On Saturday, Desh Prem Azad Academy will face Bal Bharti School, Delhi at Govt Model School ground in Sector 26.
