CHANDIGARH: Over 40.40 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been arrived in the mandis of Haryana till Tuesday as compared to 36.44 lakh metric tonnes of paddy arrived during the corresponding period last year.
While stating this on Wedenesday, Mahendra Partap Singh, Food and Supplies Minister, Haryana said that district Kurukshetra was leading in paddy arrival, where over 8.98 lakh metric tonnes of paddy had arrived in the mandis, followed by district Karnal, where over 6.94 lakh metric tonnes of paddy had arrived in the mandis. District Kaithal had recorded an arrival of over 4.69 lakh metric tonnes of paddy, Fatehabad over 4.18 lakh metric tonnes, Ambala about 3.83 lakh metric tonnes,Yamunanagar over 3.20 lakh metric tonnes, Jind over 2.22 lakh metric tonnes, Panipat over 2.01 lakh metric tonnes, Sirsa over 1.54 lakh metric tonnes, Sonipat 1.23 lakh metric tonnes and Panchkula 56,169 metric tonnes. He said that of the whole of the paddy arrived in the mandis had been purchased either by the Government agencies or by the millers/dealers. Over 25.95 lakh metric tonnes of paddy had been purchased by various procuring agencies and over 14.45 lakh metric tonnes of paddy by millers and dealers. Mahendra Partap Singh said that over 10.24 lakh metric tonnes of paddy had been purchased by Hafed, whereas Food and Supplies Department had purchased over 9.36 lakh metric tonnes, Agro Industries over 2.74 lakh metric tonnes, Confed over 2.29 lakh metric tonnes, Haryana warehousing Corporation 88,994 metric tonnes and Food Corporation of India 41,295 metric tonnes. He said that of the total arrival of 91,356 metric tonnes of Bajra, 77,376 metric tonnes had been purchased by the various procuring agencies at Minimum Support Price of Rs.840 per quintal and the rest 13,980 metric tonnes of Bajra had been purchased by the traders. |
