Punjab govt implemented New Industry Policy and Health Tourism Project

LUDHIANA: Punjab government has implemented new industry policy and Health Tourism Project as defined by department of health has given the status of industry under new policy and it would provide  facilities to entrepreneurs to use 25 % of their areas for medical facilities,  while the rest can be used for commercial purpose without any  (CLU) change of land  use charges.



This was stated by Manoranjan Kalia Minister for Local Government,  Industries and Commerce Punjab. Kalia was addressing a function organized by Indian Medical association after laying foundation stone  to be built new auditorium at Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar, Ludhiana .

Kalia said that certainly Medical Tourism will promote with the implementation of the new industry policy.He said that treatment is very costly in foreign countries and there are better medical facilities and infrastructure with fully latest equipment with modern technology are available in Punab's hospitals. 

He said that now foreigner particular NRIs would prefer their treatment in Punjab.

He appealed to the doctors that they should cure the poor people at the very low cost, so that poor people can their treatment in good hospitals.

Kalia said that Punjab Government is committed to better health facilities to the people of Punjab and Medical colleges of the state are being upgraded with modem equipments with latest techniques.

He said that  the Government Medical College, Amritsar is being upgraded at the cost of Rs 185 crore and upgrading 2 other medical colleges at Faridkot and Patiala at the cost of Rs. 72 crore and Rs. 30 crore respectively. He said that a sum of Rs. 25 crore is earmarked for the up-gradation of health institutions in the state in the current year. 

Kalia announced a grant of Rs. 5 lakh for the auditorium.
