CHANDIGARH: The Department of Mathematics is going to organize “Colloquium on Recent Trends in Algebra and Algebraic Number Theory” from 25th to 27th November 2009. 

This Colloquium is being organized in honour of Prof. I.B.S. Passi on his 70th birthday. Professor Passi is an eminent Mathematician of international repute.
 
He has brought laurels to the University by getting several awards and honours.

There will be about 90 participants including 35 renowned guest speakers from outside Chandigarh and 7 mathematicians from foreign countries.

The Colloquium will be inaugurated by the worthy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. R.C. Sobti on Wednesday, 25th November 2009 at 9.30 a.m. in the Seminar Room of Mathematics Dept.

The inaugural function will be presided over by Esteemed Professor R.P. Bambah, former Vice-Chancellor according to Dr. Sudesh K. Khanduja, Convener and Coordinator of CAS in Mathematics.
