PATIALA: Former IPS officer and Magsaysay Award recipient Kiran Bedi is ready to accept the post of Chief Information Commissioner, if offered to her.

Social activists like Anna Hazare and film-maker and actor Aamir Khan have been lobbying for her in this regard.

Now busy with her social work and NGO NavJyoti after quitting the IPS, Kiran Bedi said she was ready to accept any post that helped her serve the nation and its people. She, however, admitted that she did not possess all the qualities required for holding a political post.

The first woman IPS officer of the country, however, has many other plans up her sleeves - which includes taking up more TV programmes and social work. She said she would remain "socially active" and admitted that her hands were already full.

She earlier said that the state of education and health in the country was "erratic", as the facilities were not upto the mark and much was required to be done in the fields.

When asked about her love for the media, she said she never called for the media but it arrived to cover whatever she did so far. "I have grown with the media, as I feel it bridges the gap between the government and the public. I have never used the media for my own benefit".
