CHANDIGARH: Cold conditions intensified in Punjab and Chandigarh with minimum temperatures recording a drop of upto two degrees Celsius at several places in the region.In the plains of Punjab Amritsar was the coldest place with a low of 6.4 degrees Celsius, one notch above normal.
Besides, several parts in Chandigarh and Bathinda were engulfed with mist or fog in the morning reducing visibility and making it difficult for motorists to drive.
The minimum temperatures in most parts of Punjab and Chandigarh hovered between two degrees Celsius below normal to four notches above normal, the MET office said here.
