CHANDIGARH: This 96th and last Pension Adalat of this calendar year, as planned by MOD in consultations with CGDA, concluded at Patiala.



An overwhelm response received from the pensioners from in and around Patiala despite chilled weather conditions was received during the pension adalat.

Over 300 cases were registered and majority of these were settled on the spot by authorities. Some of the cases requiring reference to various authorities viz. PCDA(Pensions), Allahabad, DPDOs were referred to for necessary action. Few cases which were under correspondence for considerable period were examined by the experts and were disposed off during the Pension Adalat.

It may be recalled that this pension adalat was inaugurated by Lt Gen VK Chaturvedi, in the presence of Sh. Paras Ram, Principal CDA (WC) and other senior Officers from MoD, IHQ, DAD, HQ WC and 1 Armd Div.

Gen Chaturvedi earlier adviced the pensioner to collect the Annexure –iv from banks , which the later has to issue on instrucsion from Ministry of Finance and Reserve Bank of India subsequently.This document shall give the pensioners the entire detail of his pension after sixth pay commission .

The General further emphasised that the ex-servicemen should insist the banks for issuing the said document.While speaking on future policy of Government of India regarding Defence Pension , he mentioned  that the policy on one rank one pension will be issued shortly by the Government.

He requested the bankers to be more sensitive towards the Defence pensioners as the vital time of their lives they dedicated towards  service of the Nation.                

The pensioners attending the Defence Pension adalat expressed satisfaction with the response to their pension related grievances as well as arrangements made for their reception, food, tea & snacks at Adalat venue.

On this occasion, Principal CDA (Western Command) personally supervised the Adalat proceedings and interacted with the pensioners. He also addressed the pensioners sensitizing them regarding their entitlements and the benefits in the light of recent Govt. Orders related to pension.
