German Tourist raped by Tibetan youth in Dharmshala

DHARAMSHALA(HP): A tourist German woman, who was allegedly kept in confinement in a room at Mcleodganj by two Tibetan youths, was raped by them on December 27 and 28.
She was recovered by the police in an unconscious state from the Bhagsunag area, 2 km from McLeodganj, the headquarters of the Tibetan government-in-exile.
She has been admitted to the hospital. She told doctors that she was addicted to psychotropic drugs and fell unconscious from an overdose.
This was the second rape case of a foreigner in Kangra district within six months.Earlier, an 18-year-old British volunteer teacher was raped by two cab drivers in Palampur town.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (Kangra) Ommapati Jamwal said the victim was undergoing treatment at the Rajendra Prasad Medical College and Hospital at Tanda town after the incident and lodged the complaint after she was discharged from the hospital.“The victim said that both youths seemed to be Tibetans,” he said.
Jamwal said that a case under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered and the medical examination of the woman was conducted at the Rajendra Prasad Medical College.
