Mother kills her two children throwing them into water canal

AMRITSAR: In an shocking incident fed up from her petty family disputes Harjit Kaur (38) mother of two children after throwing two children into the village water canal jumped into the same canal in order to finish her and children’s life.
Soon after lady was rescued from the canal but unfortunately her two minor children died.
Confirming the incident SSP Amritsar (Rural) Gurmit Singh Chohan said on Monday evening, lady Harjit Kaur following petty dispute with husband Bittu came out from house in a fit of anger along with her two children Karan(12) a male son and Manihsa (7) female reached at Jandiala Guru canal, whereupon she jumped into the canal after pushing her two children in the same canal.
Adding further SSP said, alarm was raised by passerby when they saw the incident, police personal immediately jumped into the same canal and rescued the lady but unfortunately they could not succeeded to save the lives two innocent children as recovered their bodies.
SSP said that alleged accused Harjit Kaur has been taken into custody under section 302 IPC and 309 for willfully killing her two minor children and attempt to suicide.
SSP said that Harjit Kaur after the death of her two children slipped into shock as she was shivering and shifted to hospital for further treatment.
The entire matter would be investigated thoroughly as in which circumstances she took such an extreme step. In case any involvement of her husband found during the investigation would also be booked, informed SSP.
There was a second marriage of both husband and wife and children were also from their second marriage, added SSP.
