CHANDIGARH: Haryana Olympic Association president  Abhey Singh Chautala nominated Geetika Jhakar of Hisar District, the first Indian woman to win silver medal in the Asian Games Doha 2006, as the flag bearer of Haryana State squad in the National Games to be held in Guwahati from Februry 9 to 18. 

While caring the flag Jhakar will wear the traditional Haryanvi fress to keep the prestige of the Haryana State. Dr. M.S. Mailk, president of Haryana Wrestling Association also nominated  Geetika Jhakar as captain of the Haryana wrestling team. Mr. Mailk informed that the interest of Haryana athletes should be protected. All eligible Sports person of Haryana who qualified for National Games as per the norms of the Indian Olympic Association can contact  H.S. Bhadu the Chef-de-Mission for registration and accreditation up to February 1, 2007.
