Punjab: Beas SAD candidate fears threat to life from Dimpa Print E-mail

AMRITSAR: Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) candidate from Beas constituency Manjinder Singh Kang Tuesday demanded Z plus security and bulletproof car as he was observing threat to his life.

Addressing the press conference here Kang said that after the shootout incident wherein one Akali activist Dilbagh Singh was killed allegedly on behest of sitting Congress MLA and Congress candidate Jasbir Singh Dimpa from Beas assembly constituency. After the incident he observed direct threat to his life from Dimpa.

Kang alleged that Dimpa has reportedly hired sharp shooter to kill him and Rs. One crore has been committed with the sharp shooter for elimination.

Kang alleged that it was preplanned game on the part of sitting Congress MLA Dimpa to kill him but he had narrow escape when his close associate Dilbagh was killed by Congress men during the shooting incident.

During press conference Kang has shown the video recording of yesterday’s shooting incident wherein Dimpa’s brother Harpinder Singh Rajan was carrying AK 47 Assault rifle and firing indiscriminately on Aklai activists, nearly one hundreds rounds of bullets were fired as per the recording.

Knag said that in this regard he has written the Chief Election Commissioner of India and Director General Punjab Police for the immediate arrest of brother of Congress MLA besides the deployment of heavy paramilitary force in Beas assembly constituency.

Kang said that in such circumstances he required Z plus security, bulletproof jacket and bulletproof car and NSG (National Security Gaurds) for his security. 

Kang alleged that after yesterday shootout incident, wherein one Akali activists was killed and still three Akali activists were allegedly missing.

During the press Conference BJP star campaigner Navjot Singh Sidhu and Shiromani Akali Dal General Secretary Sukhbir Badal were present.

It may be mentioned here that yesterday Police had booked sitting MLA of Congress party from Beas constituency Jasbir Singh Dimpa, his brothers Harmanbir Singh Gill who is superintendent of Punjab Police in traffic wing and Harpinder Singh Rajan under section of 302 IPC for allegedly murdering Akali Activists Dilbagh Singh.
