AMRITSAR: Seven persons died on the spot and six seriously injured in a head on collision between a PRTC bus and a qualis Multi-Utility Vehicle (MUV) near Tangori on
Amritsar-Jalndhar highway, 30 kms from here on Wednesday morning.

The driver of the bus Daljit Singh is among the deceased while six occupants of Qualis are among those killed. The injured persons have been admitted to
civil hospital Amritsar.

The police said that PRTC bus of Sangrur depot was going from Amritsar to Jalandhar and quails was coming from Ludhiana to Amritsar. All occupants of Qualis
were members of orchestra party, which was coming to Amritsar for a marriage party.

The bus driver lost the control while trying to overtake a tractor trolley and hit the quails coming from opposite side. The impact was high that Qualis
was damaged beyond recognition. The people broke open the doors of vehicle to bring out the dead bodies and the injured persons.

The deceases have been identified as Daljit Singh (Bus driver) resident of  Tarsikka in Amritsar district, Ajit Singh alias Jeeti village Daitewal in Ludhiana
district, Hardip Singh Daitiwal, Manjit Singh Baddowal and Bharpur Singh Baddowal in Ludhaina, Daljit Singh Kaler in Ludhiana and Tejidner Singh of Ludhiana.
