Tibetan film nominated for best international award |

DHARAMSALA: The Joy of Living, an hour long documentary film by Kelsang Tsering Khangsar, is nominated for the best documentary film (International) for the IV National Media Festival and Cine India International Film Festival (CIIFF).
All the nominated films are put into three main categories; The Best Feature Film, The Best Documentary and The Best Short Film. In each category, 11 international films were nominated.
The three-day festival is being held at the Amity University Campus, Noida till March 1 during which the festival panel will screen the nominated films by selection panel in each category (Feature Film/Documentary/Short Film).
The awards will be announced on the 3rd day of the Festival.
The Joy of Living is a documentary film about a Tibetan nun, Ani Sonam Tsering, in Dharamsala, who has devoted her life helping and nursing street dogs.
The film was premiered in Dharamsala last July among the media people and local audience. The real and inspiring story has touched many people during the screening that it was successful in raising some donations to buy dog food and clothes for Ani Sonam Tsering.
Kelsang Tsering Khangsar, director of the film, has worked in several film projects including some Tibetan and international films. "In the upcoming Tibetan feature film, noted Hollywood actor Richard Gere will play protagonist. Besides, he has worked as an assistant director. He even briefly worked in Tibetan Casting of the recently shot Hollywood film, The Darjeeling Ltd, in Udaipur," said Tsering.
