AMRITSAR: As part of its expansion plans in Punjab, Kotak Mahindra Old Mutual Life Insurance Limited (Kotak Life Insurance), insurance company, Wednesday inaugurated its 1st full-fledged branch office at Amritsar.

Gaurang Shah, Managing Director. Kotak Life Insurance has inaugurated the new branch located at SCO 35, Second Floor, Ranjit Avenue, MK Hotel Road, Amritsar.

The Company has grown from strength to strength ever since commencing operations in the state. The new branch offices at Amritsar and Patiala will be Kotak Life Insurance’s 3rd and 4th branch offices in Punjab after Ludhiana and Jalandhar respectively. With these new additions to its network, Kotak Life Insurance would have 73 branches in 50 important cities across India, stated Gaurang Shah .

An important trade centre, Amritsar, is famous for its handloom and carpet industry for over a century. The city is also home to the second largest Milk plant in the country. The city’s booming markets offer traditional and modern wares from carpets, durries, kites, fireworks, bangles, shawls to cut glass and woolen textiles. Such economic activities along with a sizeable NRI population make Amritsar an attractive market for innovative life insurance products, hoped Gaurang Shah.
